PROACTION rule the roost at the Night of the Warriors fight night.

ProAction Martial Arts students, who we proudly sponsor, had a triumphant night at the recent "Night of the Warriors" event..........
Night of the Warriors was a full on night of full contact Kick and Thai Boxing in Bedford on 29th May, attended by six local martial arts clubs.  With 11 bouts on the night, a great night was had by all.

This was the first outing for the four PROACTION fighters.  All four have a traditional background in Taekwon-Do and have more recently also been training in Kick Boxing.

The first fighter out was a junior bout for Alfie Berry (aged just 14) who dominated his opponent throughout, resulting in a unanimous decision at the end of round 3.

The corner men had their work cut out as the second bout also featured a PROACTION fighter in the form of local fire fighter Stuart Manning.  Stuart was fighting a larger opponent, and received a heavy kick to the Kidney area toward the end of round 1.  This kick, unfortunately, retired Stuart on his stall after the round.

The third contest saw Ukranian ‘Naz Vorontsov’ make his debut for PROACTION.  Naz almost ran to the ring and was clearly eager to get things going.  He didn’t have to wait long as he delivered two overhand rights, followed by an awesome left leg kick which knocked his opponent out cold.  The entire bout lasted less than 45 seconds, but certainly set the crowd alive.

The crowd were then entertained by two PROACTION fighters (Pritesh Patel and Andy Lawrie) with a demonstration bout in the interval, shortly followed by the introduction of Tony Hill.  Tony is the current ‘MA Tournament King of the Ring’ and English Tae kwon-Do champion, and his fast kicking skills and showman like style didn’t disappoint, with the ring announcer calling ‘fight of the night’ immediately after the bout. Tony was pitted against a taller opponent from the Oxford area, who has a strong Boxing background.  This saw the Kicker vs the Puncher.

Tony’s display was awesome with his fast feet almost matched by his opponents strong and fast hands.  Tony had the upper hand, knocking his opponent almost out of the ropes and on to the canvass in round 1 with a powerful spinning back kick.  Round 2 saw Tony knock his man to the canvass for a second time with a reverse spinning kick to his head.  The crowd were on their feet and Tony won after round 3 with another unanimous points victory.

PROACTION Chief Instructor, Mr T Nicholson said “This was the first time out for all 4 of our guys, so to win 3 of them, the first just a young lad, the second with a very fast knockout and the third with fight of the night is fantastic for our team.  All of the fighters conducted themselves brilliantly and I would like to thank all the other clubs and fighters involved for a fantastic night – we look forward to many more”.

Tony Hill, Nazarii Vorontsov and Pritesh Patel all now go on to fight for a place in the ITF England Taekwon-Do team on 9th July.

PROACTION host MA Tournament on 17th July (Martial Arts competition promoted by Reactionsport.com) this year, and all proceeds will be split between ‘Help for Heroes’ and ‘The Jennifer Trust’, if you are interested in sponsoring this event, please visit www.MAtournament.co.uk to find out more.
